About Tradesteps

Most tool sites assume you already know the job. Most careers advice stops before you buy a single tool. Tradesteps covers both, for anyone in the UK trades.

Who it's for

• Getting in: school leavers, career changers and new apprentices who need the routes, the quals and the essential kit.
• Already qualified: experienced pros upgrading tools, comparing platforms or setting up on their own.

How the guides are made

• Kit picks are based on what's actually used on UK sites, checked against manufacturer specs.
• Pay rates, card rules and qualifications are checked against official sources and dated.
• Every pick lists its downsides.
• Guides are kept short. The verdict comes first.

How the site is paid for

Some links earn a small commission if you buy. It costs you nothing, and brands can't pay to be included. Full disclosure.
